The Borough of Chaguanas is the largest municipality and fastest-growing town in Trinidad and Tobago.

Trinidad and Tobago, similar to many other countries, continues to wrestle with the worst impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, which became manifest on the island in March 2020. This virus, however, presented another layer of complexity to an already complicated context.

Trinidad and Tobago consists of two main islands and numerous smaller islands. It is situated 12 km (7 miles), at its nearest point, northeast of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (henceforth referred to as Venezuela).

Migration from Venezuela to Trinidad and Tobago was traditionally by air routes. However, since 2016 state agencies detected a significant fall-off in entries by air and a corresponding rise in entries by sea.
