In August 2020, a total of 15,348 movements were observed at Flow Monitoring Points (FMPs). This represents a decrease of 49% in comparison with August 2019 when 29,878 movements were observed. Between these two periods, all FMPs (Dhobley, Lowyacado, Buuhoodle, Bossaso, Doolow, Cabudwaaq and Harirad) recorded a decrease in movements.Similar to July 2020, this month saw a majority of incoming flows (69%) against outgoing flows (31%). Bossaso and Cabudwaaq FMPs recorded the highest levels of incoming flows (24% and 16% respectively), while Bossaso and Dhobley recorded the highest number of outgoing flows (31% each of all outgoing flows).
In Week 35, from 23 to 29 August 2020, a total of 3,595 movements were observed at various flow monitoring points (FMP) across Somalia, of which 72 per cent were incoming flows and 28 per cent were outgoing flows. DTM has also collected information to monitor the specific vulnerabilities related to coronavirus among migrants. A total of 3,310 COVID-19 cases have been identified, of which 41 are new cases. No new deaths were reported. Additionally, 2,481 total documented recoveries were reported. Forty-four per cent of migrants reported not being aware of COVID-19. Migrants who reported not being aware about COVID-19 received a short awareness session from the DTM team.
In Week 34, from 16 to 22 August 2020, a total of 3,463 movements were observed at various flow monitoring points (FMP) across Somalia, of which 67 per cent were incoming flows and 33 per cent were outgoing flows. DTM has also collected information to monitor the specific vulnerabilities related to coronavirus among migrants. A total of 3,269 COVID-19 cases have been identified, of which 19 are new cases. No new deaths were reported. Additionally, 2,396 total documented recoveries were reported. Forty-four per cent of migrants reported not being aware of COVID-19. Migrants who reported not being aware about COVID-19 received a short awareness session from the DTM team.
In Week 33, from 9 to 15 August 2020, a total of 3,195 movements were observed at various flow monitoring points (FMP) across Somalia, of which 66 per cent were incoming flows and 34 per cent were outgoing flows. DTM has also collected information to monitor the specific vulnerabilities related to coronavirus among migrants. A total of 3,250 COVID-19 cases have been identified, of which 30 are new cases. No new deaths were reported. Additionally, 2,268 total documented recoveries were reported. Forty-one per cent of migrants reported not being aware of COVID-19. Migrants who reported not being aware about COVID-19 received a short awareness session from the DTM team.

No new deaths were reported. Additionally, 1,598 total documented recoveries were reported. Forty-six per cent of migrants reported not being aware of COVID-19. Migrants who reported not being aware about COVID-19 received a short awareness session from the DTM team.
In Week 31, from 26 July to 1 August 2020, a total of 2,595 movements were observed at various flow monitoring points (FMP) across Somalia, of which 70 per cent were incoming flows and 30 per cent were outgoing flows. DTM has also collected information to monitor the specific vulnerabilities related to coronavirus among migrants. A total of 3,212 COVID-19 cases were identified, of which 34 were new cases. No new deaths were reported. Additionally, 1,562 total documented recoveries were reported. Forty-eight per cent of migrants reported not being aware of COVID-19. Migrants who reported not being aware about COVID-19 received a short awareness session from the DTM team.
IOM assessed a total of 48 PoEs as follows: 12 domestic airports, 6 international airports, 22 land border crossing points, 8 sea border crossing points. 63 per cent (30 of the 48) of the PoEs assessed reported presence of medical personnel. 69 per cent (33 of the 48) of the PoEs assessed did not have an ongoing screening process. This percentage varies according to the PoE type: it raises to 75 per cent (9 of the 12) for domestic airports, 73 per cent for land border crossing points (16 of the 22), 50 per cent for international airports (3 of the 6) , and 63 per cent for sea border crossing points (5 of the 8). Among the 15 PoEs that had an ongoing screening process, many had limited screening capacities. For example: - 11 (73%) did not have Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures in place, such as handwashing and hygiene materials and facilities (2 of the 3 domestic airports, the 3 international airports, 4 of the 6 land border crossing points and 2 of the 3 sea border crossing points); - 8 (53%) did not have the list of COVID-19 symptoms clearly posted (1 of the 3 domestic airports, 2 of the 3 international airports, 4 of the 6 land border crossing points and 1 of the 3 sea border crossing points).

In Week 29, from 12 to 18 July 2020, a total of 3,554 movements were observed at various flow monitoring points (FMP) across Somalia, of which 66 per cent were incoming flows and 34 per cent were outgoing flows. DTM has also collected information to monitor the specific vulnerabilities related to coronavirus among migrants. A total of 3,111 COVID-19 cases were identified, of which 52 were new cases. No new deaths were reported. Additionally, 1,452 total documented recoveries were reported. Forty-two per cent of migrants reported not being aware of COVID-19. Migrants who reported not being aware about COVID-19 received a short awareness from the DTM team.
In Week 28, from 05 to 11 July 2020, a total of 3,024 movements were observed at various flow monitoring points (FMP) across Somalia, of which 71 per cent were incoming flows and 29 per cent were outgoing flows. DTM has also collected information to monitor the specific vulnerabilities related to coronavirus among migrants. A total of 3,059 COVID-19 cases were identified, of which 98 were new cases. One new death was reported out of 93 total deaths. Additionally, 1,306 total documented recoveries were reported. Fifty-three per cent of migrants reported not being aware of COVID-19. Migrants who reported not being aware about COVID-19 received a short awareness from the DTM team.

Between these two periods, five FMPs (Dhobley, Lowyacado, Buuhoodle, Bossaso and Doolow) recorded a decrease in movements while two FMPs (Cabudwaaq and Haridad) saw an increase in movements. Like in May 2020, this month saw a majority of incoming flows (70%) against (30%) outgoing flows. Cabudwaaq and Bossaso FMPs recorded the highest levels of incoming flows (20% each of all incoming flows), while Bossaso recorded the highest number of outgoing flows (35% of all outgoing flows).
